installation error

installation error
An error in pressure instruments like the ASI (air-speed indicator) and the altimeter caused by false static pressure in the immediate vicinity of an aircraft in flight. The error is corrected by the design of compensating pitot tubes or by providing for the same in air data computer. A correction card may also be provided in the cockpit. Also known as position error.
